New in our collection is this very, very rare and unique set of a pre-series Leica M 60 Edition which has got serial number : P11/24 and is coming with the even rarer three stainless steel prototype Summilux lenses !! The Leica Summilux-M 1:1.4/50mm carries serial number : 026, the Leica Summilux 1:1.4/28mm : 11/24 and the Leica Summilux 1: 1.4/35mm also has got serial number : 11/24. It’s coming with all accessories (stainless steel hoods, caps, special grey leather case with strap, charger, battery etc.) and all papers, guarantee cards, certificate of authenticity signed by Leica CEO Alfred Schopf certifying this set is a unique item. All is fitted in a specially designed RIMOWA suitcase, with Leica “Edition 100 years Ann” outer box (cause the M60 edition with 3 lenses does not exist !!).
It is not known “how many” of these pre-series were actually produced since these stainless steel lenses were normally coming with the “Leica Edition 100 years Ann.” set of which 101 pieces (and 25 protoypes) were produced in 2014. Since Leica doubted “at the time” whether the Leica “100 years edition” should be produced with the Leica M60 , of which this one is the pre-production sample , they changed it into the set with a Leica M-A and Leica Monochrom bodies instead.
