At Leica Store Lisse: Leica M10 “Zagato” set with special edition number 09/250.
The Leica M10 Zagato set is perhaps one of the special editions sets which most drastically changes the design template. Many physical features are overhauled and deviate from the standard. The body has a slightly thicker bump for better grip, instead of a leatherette there is a ribbed aluminum finish, the ISO and shutter speed dials are slightly curved, the shutter button has a red solid finish, the strap lugs are wider, the front of the lens has written “ZAGATO” all around it and even the focussing tab on the 35mm Summilux has a different design.
Many changes and tweaks were done under the influence of Italian design but the camera set is still instantly recognisable as an M10. It almost looks like an M10 from an alternate universe!!
The set takes its name from Dr Andrea Zagato, owner of the design house and automotive styling specialists of the same name, who personally designed the worldwide limited edition of 250 examples.
