Leica Summilux-M 35mm/1.4 FLE ASPH "10 Jahre Summilux".

Now available at Leica Store Lisse: 35mm Summilux FLE 10 Jahre. Only 110 have been produced!
The Leica 35mm Summilux “floating lens elements” is a legendary lens, giving amazing performance in all the qualities that a photographer could want out of their lens. It’s sharp, it’s compact and it has a large aperture. Justifiably this lens is one to celebrate. This version does just that!!
The “10 Jahre Summilux” edition celebrates the lens’s birth in 2010. Made visually known by the unique grey markings, special edition number and title on the front of the lens. These aspects are more remarkable than you might expect. For one, special editions are usually marked as 1/110, 2/110/ 3/110, etc. However, this special edition is counted by 10 in every year of its first 10 years of production. As such you will find editions ranging from 2010 until 2020 with each year having editions from 1-10. The one in the photograph for example has special edition number 05/2014.
Another interesting aspect is the grey markings, these markings have been seen before on the 35mm Summilux FLE. The 35mm Summilux “Leitz Wetzlar” (edition of 500) had grey markings to match the ones on the Leica M10 Monochrom “Leitz Wetzlar” edition. This “10 Jahre Summilux” matches just the same with the Leitz Wetzlar editions, only now in an even more limited quantity of 110.
Here’s to many more “10 years” of Summilux!
