Leica R5 "Miles Aldridge"

Duncan received another camera from a famous art photographer for his collection !! This time he got this personal gift from Miles Aldridge who used his Leica R 5 (with 50mm lens ??) for quite some fashion shoots. The back of the body is signed by the photographer and is accompanied by a personally signed letter from the artist.

 

Miles Aldridge is Born in London in 1964 and has published his photographs in influential magazines as Vogue Italia, American Vogue, Numéro, The New York Times, The New Yorker, and Paradis. His work has been exhibited in numerous group shows, like at Miami Beach Art Photo Expo as a part of Art Basel Miami Beach in 2007. His solo shows “The Cabinet” (2006) and “Acid Candy” (2008) has been presented by Galerie Alex Daniels – Reflex Amsterdam. Miles Aldridge’s upcoming solo shows in 2009 will be presented in May in New York at Steven Kasher Gallery, as well as in fall/winter at Galerie Alex Daniels – Reflex Amsterdam.

 

His monographs include Acid Candy (published by Reflex New Art Gallery, Amsterdam, with an introduction by Glenn O'Brien); The Cabinet (with an introduction by Marilyn Manson), Pictures for Photographs (published by Steidl) and Other Pictures (2012, Steidl). In 2013, Brancolini Grimaldi (London based Art Gallery in Somerset House) announced a Rizzoli special edition of Aldridge's new book, I Only Want You to Love Me, limited to 200 signed and numbered copies. Aldridge’s latest project is a book made in collaboration with stylist Nicola Formichetti and entitled Zero Zero Vol. 02, that will be presented during the New York Fashion Week
