Still lifes, street scenes, gestures, the female body, refined extracts that become geometrical, abstract studies – there are few who master the art of the suggestive understatement like Ralph Gibson. Born in 1939, the legendary photographer discovered the Leica M Monochrom in 2013 and took it with him on a trip around the world. The outcome is the ‘Mono’ series.
Duncan Meeder, owner of the Leica Store Lisse, has the honour of having initiated this project – it was he who convinced Gibson, who was not involved in digital photography, to give the Leica M Monochrom a try.
