On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Leica Store Berlin, Meister Camera issued a limited edition of the Leica Monochrom (Type 246) with matching Summilux-M 1,4/50mm ASPH. This edition is strictly limited to 10 pieces worldwide and comes in an unique, distinctive and never before seen finish!
The camera body with all operating elements and the complete barrel of the Summilux-M 1,4/50mm ASPH lens are neither painted nor chromed. Instead they are chemically treated with brown pickling solution. This gives the combination a look which has never before used on a Leica camera and perfectly underlines the characteristic of the camera and the lens as an photographic tool but also evolves an unsuspected elegance. The body cover made from grey leather complements the beautiful appearance.
This edition is a hommage to the city of Berlin. The incomplete impression of this limited edition, which is also due to the lack of paint inlays on all engravings, and the cold and at first sight unfinished surfaces, are a mirror for the pulsating, constantly changing and evolving metropolis of Berlin.
Both, Leica conaisseur and the collector will clearly know by virtue of the appearance of this limited edition model which incomparable piece is offered here. None of the worldwide produced limited edition models have been made in such a distinctive finish. Not the ones made in painted version nor the noble metal plated edition models could be compared with the "Meister Edition Berlin"!
