Leica “Anastigmat” serie with serialnumber : 148. This camera is very rare, special and absolutely 100% original and authentic state.
- the knobs are low, or short - in later models they are taller
- the counter frame is engraved "0/40"
- it has a ratchet winding mechanism (unfortunately there is no photo of the inside showing this, but it is audible when it is wound),and this was removed (or changed) starting with production camera #626
- it has a 6-speed dial
- there is a short black paint re-wind lever
- there is a plain mushroom push
- the eye piece finder is flat
- there is a datum line engraved on the lens barrel, and there are 3 black lines on the flange where you close the lens
- it has the early type leatherette
- the baseplate does not have the 2 screws in the middle, and there are no arrows accompanying "Auf/Zu"
- the front of the lens is curved, not straight - photo A-148-11, you see the "channel" just inside edge is "softer"
- the serial number of the lens is machine engraved on the back of the knob
Unique to the very early camera and this one is an original feauture that you only will find on the NULLSERIE on the back of the camera that there is not a metal circle dot in the middle of the vulcanite but that all the vulcanite is plain. That metal circle black dot was for covering a screw that was used for focusing the lens. So the very early Anastigmat’s cameras (like this one) had this typical feauture of the Nullserie,so besides that this camera is one of the very first production you can also say that there is a transactional model between the Nullserie and the regulasr Anastigmat's.
