Leica M9-P "Edition Hermès"
Geheel in traditie vervolgt Leica het nog meer exclusief maken van een toch al exclusieve camera. Nu is het de beurt aan de M9-P om als derde generatie Edition Hermès gedoopt te worden. De Leica M9-P Edition Hermès zal in een strikt gelimiteerde oplage (300 stuks) aangeboden worden.
De materialen die gebruikt worden om de Leica M9-P een exclusievere status te geven bestaan uit een speciale leersoort die wordt toegepast op de body, maar ook in de schouderriem. Het gaat hier om 'Veau Swift' kalfslederen in 'oker', natuurlijk een door Hermès ontwikkelde bescherming. De camera zelf is een zilver-verchroomde versie. Daarnaast is de camera licht onder handen genomen door automobiel-ontwerper Walter de'Silva. Zo zijn verschillende functies van de Leica M9-P volledig gerestyled waarmee de camera zich onderscheid en door het leven kan gaan als Leica M9-P Edition Hermès. Overigens heeft elke camera een ‘één van een reeks van opeenvolgende gelimiteerde nummers’ naast het speciale serienummer.
Leica Camera AG, Solms, presents a new limited edition: the Leica M9-P »Edition Hermès«. Following the Leica MP »Edition Hermès« (2003) and the Leica M7 »Edition Hermès« (2009), this is the third in a line of premium special editions of the Leica M-System to be created in collaboration with the renowned Parisian house Hermès. The Leica M9-P »Edition Hermès« is being offered in a strictly limited edition. The limited numbers, unique product design and premium finishing with numerous extras make this a truly special edition in every respect.
The highlight of the Leica M9-P »Edition Hermès« is the ‘Veau Swift’ calfskin leather in ‘ocre’ supplied by Hermès for the leathering of the silver-chromed version of the Leica M9-P camera. This extremely fine and supple leather is applied not only to the camera body, but is also used for the shoulder strap included in the set. In addition, the camera sports a special design, created in collaboration with the automotive designer Walter de’Silva. Various features of the camera body have also been completely restyled – for instance the top deck, the base plate, the shutter speed dial, the multifunction wheel and the shutter release. These distinguish the cameras from the standard version of the Leica M9-P and emphasise the unique status of the limited edition. In addition to a dedicated serial number, each camera also bears one of a series of consecutive limited-edition numbers.
